My mother has been a type 1 diabetic since she was 24, when she was pregnant with my 10 year old sister.
When I was 13 months old I became diabetic, I started to get sick, have a fever, flu, pee a lot and drink a lot of water. My mother took me to the emergency room and the doctor said I became diabetic.
I was hospitalized for diabetic ketoacidosis for a week and then went home.
Due to the financial situation being tight there. Home, my uncles and grandparents helped me by buying my first Freestyle Libre and my godmother gave me my miaomiao 3 as a gift.
Here in Brazil we still don’t have Freestyle libre 2. But I can’t wait to use it, because it’s smaller.
The #miaomiao was the best treatment so far, because he is eager when I have hypoglycemia and so my parents can sleep more peacefully.”
